Google is much more than powerful search engine, in some ways it’s a small business owner’s best friend and your friend Google is telling you, “I know you have a limited software budget so here ya go buddy, you can have these productivity apps for free!”. When it comes to home office or small business organization Google has built some amazing free apps!

Here are some Google apps I find useful in my work-flow:

1. Reader

Google Reader is one of my favorite apps and the first app I launch every morning. It allows you to subscribe to your favorite blogs and websites and pushes content to you from these sites as they are updated. It also keeps track of articles you read so you will only see the most up-to-date articles when you log in.

2. Docs

If you ever wondered what it would be like to always have the latest version of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint for free welcome to Google Docs. You can create and share your work online and access your documents from anywhere. Manage documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more from any computer or supported mobile devise.

3. Quick Search Box

Search for anything on your computer, You can even retrieve email and launch web based applications.

4. AdWords

AdWords is an online advertising tool which you can customize and set spending thresholds.

5. Calendar

If you are a mac user and familiar with iCal then Google Calendar may not appear to be much different but the advantage here is the ability to share your calendar online without the fee of a .mac account.

6. Google Maps

Probably the easiest map tool to use and syncs well with mobile devises. The perfect companion to look up directions to a client site or have integrated into your website.

7. Feed Burner

Make money by using FeedBurner Ad Network. It will help you to market your content, analyze your blog’s traffic and audience.

8 Google Trends

Trends is a great tool for market research. Compare search terms and figure out what people are looking for online which will allow you to customize your site content according to those trends.

9. Special Search

This little hidden feature will save your time on research and find only what actually you want.

10. Transit

With the help of Google Transit, it is easier for you to get connected with vendors, clients, editors and even more. It also enables you to find public transportation stops in your area and across all over the country.
